Joint Sealing

Description
Road sealing is a flexible compound that is inserted into the expansion cuts between slabs of concrete. The flexible compound allows the concrete to expand and contract with change of temperature. Normally an inducer cut is sawed into the concrete to a depth of 100mm to encourage the concrete to crack at that point and a wider cut is made at a lesser depth and foam baker rod is placed in the inducer cut to allow movement between the slabs. Flexible road seal is placed over the top of the backer rod to seal the expansion joint and stop moisture from getting in and allowing the joint to move.

Application
We provide both cutting and sealing for major roadway and refurbishments of existing roadways. We have the ability to seal at any width from 4mm wide – 25mm wide. We specialises in projects that require over 1,000 metres or more of joint sealing to be completed.

Types Of Road Sealing
We use only two types of sealant for all roadway projects:
  • 888 Silicon
    • For joint sealing 4mm wide to 18mm wide
  • Urethane
    • For joint sealing from 18mm to 25mm wide
